Origins
The Australian Caravan Company was founded in 1978 and was acquired in 1985 by Wayne and Kay Rohde, the current owners. From the outset, Wayne & Kay infused their business with a love for sharing the great Australian outdoors. This tradition continues today as a new generation leads the family business.
30 Years of Growth
An opportunity arose in 1990 to become part of the Jayco group of distributors. This was the beginning of a successful partnership that saw Wayne sell more Jayco’s in his first year than any other dealer in the country.
The business continued to grow until larger premises were needed and in 2001 the Australian Caravan Company acquired the present day ‘Superyard’ site at 820 South Road Edwardstown. Our Superyard now hosts the largest display of new and used quality Jayco campervans, pop tops, caravans, motor homes & new Frontline Campervans in South Australia.
In January 2011 we relocated the Australian Caravan’s Service Department to a larger site at 108 Daw’s Rd Melrose Park. At the same time we moved our accessories showroom “All RV Parts & Accessories” to the same location but a much larger showroom.
Today, almost half of all new RV’s sold are Jayco. Australian Caravans offers you South Australia’s best range of caravans and RVs and you have the added security of dealing with one of the state’s largest retailer.
