Jayco Adelaide Will Not Be Attending The 2021 Adelaide Caravan and Camping Show
It’s with a touch of melancholy that we recently announced we will not be attending this month’s 2021 Adelaide Caravan and Camping Show. Our attendance at shows has been consistent each year to showcase Jayco’s latest models, innovations, and lifestyle opportunities. Unfortunately, this year we are unable to guarantee that we could deliver our usual high standard of display. When we go to the show our goal is to provide a safe, well-staffed environment with a wide array of new model Jayco’s for you to browse. During these times we cannot guarantee that this will happen.
COVID has affected every business and individual in some way, shape, or form. Late last year the Victorian Govt state-wide shutdowns severely delayed some of our customer’s RV orders and Jayco Caravan Manufacturing has implemented strategies to increase production to catch up. Attending shows disrupts the Dealership (Sales, Parts & Service) and dramatically affects our operations for weeks leading up to and after the event. With this in mind, coupled with exceptional sales inquiries & results and our 100% focus on customer’s it is virtually impossible of procuring a full range of new 2021 stock to place at the show, a decision needed to be made.
Availability of our interstate contractors, staff & volunteers due to on-again-off-again state border restrictions and testing requirements, it is proving too difficult to adequately plan & execute a sufficient team. Additionally, building a team that is prepared & to be comfortable to commit to working in a show COVID environment was also considered. Certainly, we appreciate social distancing and controls will be in place, however, in a worst-case scenario, if there was evidence of community transmission at this event it would have broader implications to our business. As this is outside of our direct control and our WHS priority is with our staff, contractors, and volunteers also the COVID Plans requirements are onerous and come with an additional cost that we believe is counterproductive to a show stand activation.
As each day passes there is every chance of a regulatory shut down just before or during the event, this would certainly jeopardize our business given the level of the investment for a Main Industry Show, which is enormous. With all of the above taken into consideration and what was is right for Jayco, Jayco Adelaide, and our customers the decision was made in early December 2020 it was unreasonable for us to attend. This giving our industry association (CCIAofSA) plenty of time make the required changes due to our non-attendance.
All is not lost our sales showroom will be open with normal trading hours plus opening the Sunday of the show weekend to accommodate anyone looking to explore the amazing Jayco range. If you’re heading to the show and want to visit the Jayco range, our Dealership is located no more than 10 minutes from the Adelaide Showgrounds! Our 2021 Jayco’s are starting to arrive with more and more models rolling through the gates every day, we now have a massive pipeline of Dealer ordered stock.
